Citizens Bank opens four branches in one day

Citizens Bank Interna-tional opened four branches in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday. Dr Shankar Sharma, chairman of the bank, inaugurated the branches amid a function through an electronic device. According to a press release issued here today, the new branches are in New Road, Bauddha, Koteshwor, and Kumaripati. With today's additions Citizens Bank now has nine branches. It has branches in Biratnagar, Birgunj, Pokhara, and Nepalgunj. On the occasion of the branches opening, the bank is offering facilities like savings accounts at zero balance, debit cards, SMS banking and internet banking facilities. The bank is also set to install ATMs in the newly established branches in a few days. The bank is celebrating its first anniversary on Saturday. According to its financial report, it collected deposits amounting to Rs 5.88 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, and issued loans of Rs 4.55 billion.
