Gurkha opens branch in Balaju

Gurkha Development Bank (Nepal) has opened a new branch in Balaju on Sunday. Chairman of the bank DB Bamjan inaugurated the branch amid a function, the bank said, issuing a press statement on Sunday. With the opening of new branch, Gurkha Development Bank, established some five years ago, now operates with 10 branches.

As of mid-July 2009, the development bank has mobilized deposits of Rs 3.36 billion and issued loans of Rs Rs 3.40 billion and invested Rs 100 million. The bank had earned Rs 50 million in net profit during the last fiscal year.

According to the release, the bank will soon expand its branch network outside the valley to deepen its presence and provide modern banking facilities to customers outside the valley.
