Nepal Industrial and Commercial (NIC) Bank commenced operation of its 14th branch in Surkhet this week. Issuing a press release, the bank said that the branch will provide the full range of products and services including all modern day banking facilities. The branch is connected to all other branches through a V-Sat network enabling real-time-online connectivity, says the release, adding that the bank posted a growth of 95 percent in net profit amounting to Rs 175 million in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. NIC Bank, the recipient of Bank of the Year 2007 - Nepal, also plans to open two additional branches in the current fiscal year.
