The price of gold saw steady rise throughout the week. On Sunday, it opened at Rs 19,675 and remained constant on Monday. But it surged by Rs 260 on Tuesday to register Rs 19,935 per 10 gram.
Wednesday saw no rise in the price of hallmark gold as it remained constant but on Thursday it climbed to Rs 20,060 per 10 gram. On Friday it closed at Rs 20,150 per 10 gram, a rise by Rs 90 from Thursday's closing.
In the international market too, gold closed at Rs $897 per ounce on Friday from last Friday's $872.
Unlike gold, silver price saw a roller-coaster ride this week. The market opened at Rs 381.50 per 10 gram on Sunday.
Monday saw no changes in the prices but on Tuesday it surged to Rs 398 per 10 gram.
However, it plunged to Rs 390 on Wednesday. But again, it bounced back to Rs 392 on Thursday and closed at Rs 389 per 10 gram on the last day of the trading in the domestic market, Friday.
Gold, this week, jumped by Rs 475 to close at Rs 20,150 per 10 gram on Friday in the domestic market from the closing of Rs 19,675 last Friday.
