The construction works of Lower Modi Hydropower Project at Chuwa Village Development Committee (VDC) of Parbat district have got underway.
The project, which has a installed capacity of 10 MW, is a run-of-river type that is estimated to generate about 124 GWH of energy annually.
The project, which is expected to be accomplished in two-and-a-half-year time period, will so far be a project based on Nepalese technology and capital injection.
The project is promoted by four commercial banks, three development banks and a finance company of Nepal. There banks have disbursed Rs.1.25 billion for the accomplishment of the project.
