The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Sunday fell by 7.6 points. All the sub-indices suffered a loss on the trading floor. The banking sector lost the most dropping 9.67 points followed by the development bank, insurance and finance sectors which lost 9.33 points, 7.1 points and 3.69 points respectively.
The share market witnessed a total turnover of Rs. 127.65 million with 165,362 units of shares being traded. Shares of 60 companies changed hands on NEPSE.
Among the 21 commercial banks whose shares were traded on NEPSE on Sunday, Lumbini Bank posted the biggest growth with its stock rising by 12 points while Standard Chartered Bank lost the most on the trading floor by shedding 175 points. Similarly, among the 13 development banks, Business Development Bank witnessed the highest increase of 10 points while Gorkha Development Bank lost 42 points.
Among the 13 finance companies, Citizens Investment Trust was the highest gainer with an increase of 14 points in its share price. Prabhu Finance was the highest loser shedding 38 points. The top five winners on NEPSE were Lumbini Bank with a 3.31 percent rise in its stock price followed by Prudential Insurance Company, People's Finance, World Merchant Bank and Business Development Bank. Similarly, the top five losers on Sunday were Reliable Finance which fell by 4.46 percent followed by Prabhu Finance, Gurkha Development Bank, Lumbini General Insurance and Nepal Life Insurance Company.
