Nepal Bank Ltd (NBL) has resumed services from four branches, which are among the branches that were closed during decade-long Maoist insurgency, for the benefit of service seekers.The branches in Surunga and Gauradaha of Jhapa district, Barahathawa of Sarlahi and Jitpur of Bara district were inaugurated separately on Thursday. The bank also launched ATM service at its Biratnagar city office.
Dr Pushpa Raj Rajkarnikar, coordinator of the bank management committee, inaugurated Surunga and Gauradaha branches as well as ATM service. Ramesh Prasad Sharma, member of bank management committee, opened Barahathawa and Jitpur branches.
The bank has stated that it is planning to open ATM services through 21 more branches before the bank´s 73rd anniversary that falls on November 15 this year. The country´s oldest bank has been providing service through its 105 branches.
