Taking in mind ‘Bank for the betterment of banking sector of Nepal’, the Himalayan Bank Limited (HBL) on Tuesday opened its new branch at Swoyambhu, Kathmandu.
With this new branch, the HBL has now 22nd branch across the country.
Mr. Manoj Bahadur Shrestha, Chairman of the HBL inaugurated the new branch amidst a function.
The new branch will extend various types of deposit and credit products.
Addressing the function, Shrestha said that his bank was committed towards extension of innovative, improvised and modern products and services to its customers.
He pointed out that the Bank was playing a positive role towards development and uplifting traditional skills of the rural and semi-urban areas by focusing its activities on productive sectors starting lending activities to small and medium enterprises.
Mr. Ashoke SJB Rana, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HBL informed that the bank rendered an impressive performance in its deposit, profit and loan portfolios in the first ten month of the current fiscal year.
According to him, deposit base of the bank reached Rs.33.58 billion and the loan portfolio at Rs.25.64 billion in the first ten month of the current fiscal year. Similarly, in the same period, HBL accumulated a gross operating profit of Rs.939.20 million.
Likewise, the bank has been to make an inflow of remittance amounting US$352 million in the same period.
