The Finance Minister Surendra Pandey has said that the banking and financial institution were not utilizing their sufficient investment in any development sector that was vital to drive the country towards economic prosperity.
He pointed out that there were large amount of money dumped in the state-owned and the private banks and financial institutions, despite having opportunities to invest in development projects.
Inaugurating the 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nepal-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NGCCI), he said that the government would ensure the investment friendly climate to those willing to invest in Nepal.
“There need to be a common understanding among all the political parties and the political commitment to accelerate the country’s development,” he added.
He urged all the people and the political party’s leaders to show their faithful and noble commitment that would only ensure the development growth momentum.
On the occasion, NGCCI bestowed the best exporter of the year award 2008 to the Senon Carpet Industries Pvt. Ltd.
The NGCCI with the member organization base of 174 companies representing from major business sector like tourism, manufacturing, trading, carpet, garments, handicrafts and agro-business has been playing a focal role as the first contact points for the companies interested in business with Germany as well as German companies interested in business with Nepal.
